*FAQ's

How many hours must a student be enrolled in to be eligible for employment?

Any student seeking employment must be enrolled at least halftime (6 hrs undergrad, 5 hrs grad) for each semester he/she is going to work. You must maintain half-time enrollment during the entire semester in order to qualify for work study. Students who withdraw (officially or unofficially) anytime during the semester become ineligible on the date of withdrawal.  Departments will be charged 100% of the student earnings during any period of ineligibility.

My student graduated last semester. Can he/she still work under student employment?

No. If you wish to continue your graduate, you must hire them through UNMTemps.

Can I hire incoming freshman or transfer students?

Incoming students are not eligible for employment until the first date of their class. If you would like to hire the student before the semester begins, you may hire them through UNMTemps (505) 277-6947

My student has a hold on his/her record. Can he/she still work?

No. Eligibility for student employment is based on enrollment. If a student has a hold on their record then they cannot enroll. You may hire the student through UNMTemps until the hold is removed.
